FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE I HAVE WATCHED ZERO OLYMPIC COVERAGE

I have watched a little of it. Not going to support those that don't appreciate living in this country though. Florida Gators have shown up and won a total of 15 medals of course anchored by Dressel.

With time almost expired he pulls an exciting, miraculous finish. He's another that loves his country.

Lots of good wrestling from athletes from many countries, including the US. Outstanding camera work as well. The Olympics is a great opportunity to see dedicated athletes from all over the world. How often does this happen? If you’re not watching any of it you’re only short changing yourself.

I agree 100 percent. These are truly outstanding dedicated athletes.
If it wasn't for the Olympics they would get very little if any recognition.

Both Stevenson and David Taylor won their gold medal matches with last second takedowns, beating world champions in doing so. If you get the chance to see either match please do. Those are some tough individuals.

35 year old Allyson Felix won the bronze in the women's 400. By doing so she now has 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze since the '08 Olympics.

From ESPN: "The 35-year-old Felix now has the most medals in the sport for any woman at the Olympics and is tied with Carl Lewis for the most medals by an American track and field athlete at the Games. This was her first Olympics since becoming a mother in 2018, and she has talked about wanting to motivate other women with her story."

There is a chance that she could still win another one. You go, girl.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos of the shooting competition, but that's all. I haven't watch a single minute of TV coverage.

Ball caps off to Japan. They took Gold in baseball by besting the US 2-0. It was a super tight game and the American players agreed that they left everything they had on the diamond and lost to a better team.

Congrats, Arlo.

Olympics: Karate judges wipe spectacular head-kick KO in gold match

I know it is the rule, but really, a disqualification for too hard of a kick?
I know very little about karate or its rules at the Olympics, but it makes sense to me that the rules, for a sporting competition, require a kareteka to pull his kicks and punches. I think otherwise participants would risk serious injury, permanent disability, or death.

I think, if fans want to keep it an Olympic sport, the judges sent the right message.

Also great to read of the sportsmanlike manner with which the young Saudi karateka accepted the decision.
