First time trying color fill...and now my issue

I would not use non-acetone nail polish remover either. It may not have acetone, but it has something else that will equally well dissolve nail polish, and plastic. I have a damaged vinyl chair that proves it.

The acetone attacked the polymer and pulled the color agent out of it. There is no fix for it unfortunately short of painting the entire lower. Lacquer thinner will do the same thing to polymer. Don't ask me how I know....

hmm, that's really odd, since i have used both mineral spirits, non-chor brake cleaner and acetone nail polish remover when i was out of non acetone and have never gotten a cloud like that on any polymer gun, including the 15-22 and some Plum Crazy 5.56 polymer lowers.

i would suggest a sock, over your hand as you would put it on your foot and a quick shot of brake cleaner on the sock, just a shot, then wipe it off. should come off and then look 'dry' but no film. quick shot of rem oil or a small wipe of armor all or pledge will bring the black back.

methinks different batches of polymer are of different QC. the only thing that i have had acetone/mineral spirits/break cleaner attack is rubber, as in stripping a rubber AR grip, kinda melted it, but was using it as a test subject.

should not have clouded at all on that XM15, have the same lower same nail polish, no film...curious....

I'm having a local gun shop technician do the outlining of my S&W M&P 15-22LR in the same color as he did his. He has some beautiful artwork on some of his weapons he did on his own weapons and a few others. I drop it off today around noon when he gets in and pick it up on Thursday. Reason why, I choosed to let a artwork technician do it is because I do trust myself on outlining the writing but I want it done write and etc.

Use a China marker in the color you desire. Fills lettering great and clean up with 99 percent Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. 99 percent highly flammable. Be careful until it evaporates. Re oil any steel as the oil will be removed.
