Flashmobs are gaining in frequency. What to do?

It would seem unlikely that no one in each of those households wouldn't be able to find some type of work. Of course England is further along the socialist path than we are so who knows.

I don't think it has anything to do with socialism.

I think it has to do with the same problem (if you want to call it that) that teenagers have always had.... and that's rebellion.

These flash mobs are made up of teenagers. They're not activists. They are teenagers that have figured that they can organize, strike, and escape before traditional law enforcement can even respond. You mix that with with your standard mob mentality, and traditional teenage rebellion and this is what you get.

I mean... this happens with ADULTS.. .over HAPPY news... Remember the riots that broke out in November, 2010 in San Fransico after the Giants won the Worlds Series?

Teenage boys lack the maturity, patience, and overall mental and emotional development that most grown adult men have.

They're basically the "hoods" of the 60's but with today's technology. They're just punks. Out of how many days of rioting, and how many thousands there were, the death total was something like 5 people.

My 9mm holds 17 +1. If pulled that out in self defense and emptied the magazine... and if I "carried extra mags" as some have suggested, and actually used them... then the death toll could have easily tripled. By my actions alone. And I think that would be pretty difficult to defend in court.

And yeah, "IF" it was ruled a good shoot you might avoid jail time, but you wouldn't avoid multiple civil, wrongful death, suits from each of the families and/or innocent by standers. And even if you won each of those... you'd still be broke from your own defense attorney's fees.

That's how they got OJ, remember?

And THIS is common sense reasoning? How would you feel if the dead 5 were your wife and kids? Are you saying let the violent mobs run wild because the number actually killed is LESS than if someone were to restrain them? Because that is what you sound like you are saying, and I have heard government leaders say the same nonsense. :(

I bet if I'm firing my gun and running the other way, they wouldn't follow. Also if you can identify the key leaders of a mob, that will help to stop the whole crowd. It's all about which bully you cancel. Or better yet stay out of the city streets in those situations if possible. Would I go hang out at Olympic Park in Atlanta, hell no.

As the good weather in Wisconsin is over the mobs are smaller, saying that if the Brewers win or lose the title either way I will stay out of Milwaukee except for when I have to go to work. It seems after every major sporting event people both young and old lose their minds.

In Milwaukee and probably a lot of places unemployment is high, people still want things so if you have no money you can always steal, the group mentality takes over and they ransack stores cars and injure other people for sport until the police show up, usually the police are outnumbered. A person with a firearm may be able to defend himself and his family for a short period of time or until he can find an escape route, but once you start firing some of them may run away and some may just be armed too and overwhelm you.

I stay away from large crowds when possible, I do go to places like the zoo, the state fair aand places where large groups gather. However I try and stay observant and alert.

I see people at work that work as criminals in the group or mob mentality, we had a case back in the 90's in which a young girl was set upon by another group of girls and beaten to death for her football starter jacket, because on of the other girls wanted it, they were caught one is doing life without parole and the others were tried as juviniles. The victim was a teen ager and unarmed against a group of teenagers who picked up weapons of opportunity. (Riebar, rocks, etc).

So the flash mob is not new but as a previous poster stated it has evolved with technology. Fights start at a high school and every one is calling or tweeting and next thing you know you have a full fledged riot with many members of the same families and their friends.

Then the court system does not hold them accountable, and the social workers take over and tell every one it's not their fault it is because they are underpriviledged, no one will hire you and they perpatrators don't take responsibility.

If you do pull your firearm and shoot be prepared for a long legal and civil struggle.

I personally avoid like the plague places where large crowds could gather anyway. Only place I usually go where there is a crowd is the gunshow... :D
