Hi:
Received word from Florida that hundreds of CCW Applications are being rejected due to fingerprints.
Reason is that older citizens fingerprints are worn to the point where the prints are illegable. This is with prints taken by pad and ink method at the CCW Classes given at Gunshows. I am wondering if prints taken by Computers is better?

I was in Florida two years ago right before my permit expired and I asked if I could renew while there. A very bureaucratic lady, said no renewal without the form they mailed me. Needless to say, the form was waiting when I got home. I did my fingerprints the old way and they were rejected twice. I got my permit and then a letter saying they might revoke it if the prints did not check out. I then got a letter saying they could not ask for a 3rd set of prints.

Not knocking Florida,

but I dropped my Florida perrmit years ago just because renewal was a pain. Instead I applied for and got an Arizona license. Simple renewal, cheeper, no prints needed after 2nd renewal, 5 years, and with my Indiana, I have everywhere I want to travel.

Local PD in Central FL did mine on paper card. The clerk did a fine job with no smudges . I put them in a ziploc to protect them and mailed them that way. No problems.
Gl and have fun
