For decades the S & W revolvers written in Spanish_

Hello friends, anyone knows that our dear Smith & Wesson revolvers have engraved on the right side of the frame in Spanish: " Marcas Registradas" and not in English , trademark?
I find it curious and not the real answer.

Because that is the language required in Latin America to protect the trademark. The US language is part of the logo.

I thought it roughly translates to registered trade mark?

Also thought the Spanish came from ownership, Bangor Punta?

" Marcas Registradas" was added as legal protection after WWII because of Spanish trademark infringements. Nothing more, nothing less...
