Looking for a foregrip to hold two spare AA batteries for my Eotech. I've picked up one at the gunshoe but sadly the batteries won't fit. Looking for advice to not waste money! :)

pretty pricey, but on my AR, I have the Tango Down Battle Grip with quick release. I just tried and I was able to store 2 AA batteries in it. it is also designed to work with either surefire or insight pressure activated switches for weapon lights. if you don't have a light, there is a cover you can put on where the switch would be.

They also have a slightly cheaper model without the quick release lever.

Get rid of the Eotech. :p

Besides that is there a need to carry it on the rifle? Does your pocket not suffice? I have seen some jury-rigged versions of normal pocket storage units attached to AR stocks, but I can't recall where (nor would I trust them past shooting bench use)

The TD VFG is a nice piece of kit, but I find it overly long.

Attachment turns most standard AR stocks into a SOPMOD like storage stock

Viking Tactics make a nice grip, but you pay for it. Their gear is quality and I'll happily say this grip will out last your 15-22
It retails for $90 though....

A kick butt company called Unity Tactical is going to make a dedicated 2 cell AA battery compartment that is rail mounted. It is part of their new modular front sight setup and something worth looking at. They have announced the modular front sight but the battery compartment isn't available yet.

BTW...the Troy vfg is on sale for $10 off at Brownells right now. $49 vs $59.

Other Troy items are also on sale too. Good 3 pack deal on Troy mags.

any reason not to just store them in the stock or pistol grip?

well, i meant aftermarket. i should have clarified. mine actually has a waterproof compartment that would accomodate at leaset 4 AA batteries.

How fast are you going thru batteries for the EoTech?

Battery life of the 552 is rated at 1000 hours with a pair of AA batteries so even if you forget to turn it off they will last for six (6) weeks. Hardly a reason to carry spare batteries around all the time. My SU-231/PEQ (553) uses a pair of 123 Lithiums rated at 1100 hours.

My Aimpoint Comp4s is rated at eight (8) years, 80,000 hours, on one (1) AA battery. I don' t bother turning it off.

But I ain't putting a $700+ sight on a $400 rifle and have clones on my S&W AR15-22 and airsoft rifles. ;)

I live in Mass so we have fixed stocks. I am trying not to buy custom 15-22 parts that won't carry over to my M&P15 been I get it (hence buying an eotech and not buying three $100 *** sights). Since my stock is pinned, I would have to damage the stock to replace it.

I haven't looked into a pistol grip replacement but wasn't sure if they would carry over to the real 15.

Thanks.

Every after-market pistol grip put on a 15-22 is originally made for ARs. Even the S&W grip on you 15-22 will fit an AR. About the only custom 15-22 after-market part is the charging handle. Virtually everything else except the BCG will interchange.

I went past an Airsoft shop earlier today and what did they have but a knock off Vikings Tactics metal VFG which holds batteries. It'll set you back less than the original will.
