Forum History- Any members from 2000 left?

2003 here.
At some point we did an upgrade (or some such thing) and my post count decreased by 2 or 3 thousand. Makes me look like a newby, eh?

Well well well.....

What a great old thread, aught 4 here, lost 10,000 posts after the changeover then retirement took over for a while, met smithnut a few times little place west of tacoma long ago, deadin and a few others made the trek, fun times with dedub and 1/4 at salt lake, sturbridge met a bunch and finally got a chance to sit and talk with Roy.
Had a lot of fun here and never gave ratz patoot about crummy opinions some have delivered over the years, pretty much always figgered if I wouldn't say it to your face I won't type it, go to place for saw info.

I joined in 2008 when I bought a older smith 357 and didn't know what it was. It turned out to be a reg. magnum.

Yeah. Manny, right? Bought a whole buncha reg mags, maybe 12 or so, subsisted on instant noodles, and then sold 'em off to buy or renovate a house, as I recall.
I don't remember the details but I thought the firearm liquidation had something to do with his daughter, maybe a big wedding????
(I bought one of his 3.5" model 27's.)

I didn't get here until April 2001. So I guess I'm still just a noobie. :D

I will say that thanks to this forum I have gained a whole lot of knowledge and spent a whole lot of money.

True, but I have SAVED myself money using info from from people, too. Money that might have gone to a gunsmith went to...well, probably another gun, now that I think about it....

For me.......

One other thing I think we all have taken advantage of is completing wish lists, I made complete tool sets, got the papers and boxes for my saw's and went nutz buying sight adjusters and wands.
