Forum Members Seem to Collect All Kinds of Stuff

I think Wundudnee's late wife's tatting shuttle collection is among the more interesting collections I've seen.

I guess I tend to be more of a dabbler than a collector. I dabble pretty consistently in knives, pocket watches, guns, books... (Well, books are more of a constant, I guess, than a dabble.) Been doing some vintage holster dabbling with the help of the gun leather sub forum here this past year or so.

I get intensely interested in something, research the heck out of it for hours or days or weeks or months, and then often/usually lose interest as I pursue the next interest.

I seem to enjoy a brief spelunk down the rabbit hole.

I graduated from the 8th grade at age 13. Dad gave me an air rifle and Grandpa gave me an antique Damascus shotgun. That was the start. Now my collection is up to (well I can't tell you unless I shoot you....LOL.)

When I was 16 Grandpa gave me his old outboard motor. My buddy had a car and we used to go up the creek (literally) and rent an old boat for 5 bucks a day. We plied the local waters every weekend. That was the start of that hobby. With the 2 I bought off Marketplace in the past 2 weeks, my collection is now up to 75.

I used to duck hunt, so the 2 hobbies kinda complement each other.

(sorry they don't all fit in the picture)

Back in my misspent youth i was an oldies disk jockey. I ended up with a huge collection of old rock and roll and country crossover 45 rpm records.

Probably my most exotic firearms collection is my Russian arms that were captured by the Finns.

I have a an extensive collection of obsolete digital cameras from the Olympus C2040 on.

My S&W collection is somewhat dwarfed by my milsurps, and I also have a weakness for firearms of unusual design. I'm still short a Luger and VP70 in the latter respect.

I collect (mostly) USArmy unit patches, primally WWII, but WWI and Viet too. To go along with those the enlisted lapel branch pins WWI & WWII.

To me the weirdest thing I collect is Drill Bits smaller than 1/64th of an inch, I have around 10 the size of or smaller than a hair.

Folding carpenters measurers

Loading tools

Cartridges

Old hunting licenses

Flags (National)

Bibles

and Good Looking wives! (I only have one, but I show her off to everyone that comes over!)

Record albums from the 60s/70s. I play them on my Pioneer PL-41 through a 1500 amp and CS 88As I bought in VN in 1969. Unfortunately my wife is not in to it so I wait for her to go shopping to pull them out. Lots of firsts, Jimi, Airplane, Pink Floyd, Cream, etc. etc.

At one time I collected ex-husbands but they are all dead and gone so guess that doesn't count!
I have a small but nice collection of automatic knives. More than a hundred cookbooks, lots of other books, vintage jewelry, some watches, and like many women lots of shoes, boots and purses.
At one time I had over 100 Zippos but have sold all but 2. Easy to sell and ship. And way too much other "stuff"

It's amazing how many collect milsurps. I'll second the comment about Finn Mosins. I have a Model 39 that appeared to have been unissued. I bought one for my Dad and he loved it. Sadly, I got it back, but soon after gave it to my son.

I was playing this old piece of vinyl and Snow our rabbit tried to get into it for some reason!
