Last weekend was looking for a holster ......

Came across a cotton gun bag in a dark corner of the safe..... a 4" 686-5; factory round butt .... new frame w/ floating firing pin and MIM hammer and trigger. No lock

My most carried 4" .357 is a 4" 686 (no dash) I had round butted in the early 1980s......kind of remember buying a second 4" 686 but haven't seen it in years..... maybe two decades :)

.... oh ya I finally found the holster!

A great example of "I didn't know I had that anymore!" Happens to me all the time with ammunition. Nice when that happens to someone with quality items, like Smiths!

Bam Bam I think you to take a week and do a complete inventory and shock yourself to how much you have accumulated.

I've posted in several threads about "Stuff"

George Carlin did a whole 'Shtick" about "Stuff"

Coming up on 29 years in the same house; family has had "the cabin" since 1975 (Dad retired there years ago) and we built the carriage house at the lake in 2018...... easy for "STUFF" to accumulate and get misplaced....... or assumed it's at the "other place"!

Compounded by the stuff that's been bought...... then sold or traded over the past 44 years for "new stuff" :)

Wow BAM-BAM that's a great find in your safe. So now if you only have 1 holster, you'll need to FIND a 2nd one so you can have both 686's a blazin! Just dig deep in the safe again, I bet you find a 2nd holster or better yet another gun you forgot about. All in all, that was a rewarding day!

Got two big "boxes-o-holsters" and several small boxes of holsters.

Which is how this all got started..... most holsters I use a lot are one place.... the Big-Boxes-O-Holsters are mostly ones that failed to make the cut. Some holsters are specific to one gun or shooting sport and are found with the gun in question. The holster I was looking for was a Wilson Combat Tactical/Practical that works with a Wilson Combat Beretta Centurion Tactical with a rail and 4.25" barrel . I have two similar holsters for my Beretta 92 Elite IIs with Brigadier 4.7" slides.

As to the two 4" 686s I'll have to match up my Bianchi B-9 fancy stitched belt with a with a Bianchi 5BHL strong side and a 111 Cyclone crossdraw; finishing off with a double speedloader pouch with Safariland Comp II speedloaders. Be waiting for it all to pull my Wranglers down!!!!! :)

After my fire 4 years ago imagine my surprise when I find stuff in my storage shed or in my friend's garage (post fire dump into his garage) and I think, "HOLY SMOKES! [pun intended] - THAT SURVIVED???!!! :D
