Just for fun, I've created another version of my Frankennine that I'd built many years ago, incorporating a long stainless barrel and a slide with a Bo-Mar rib installed. Certainly a very heavy 9mm in this configuration.

Clicking on the embedded link above will give you a look at my original concept. Feel free to opine on any preference for one over the other.

You should have that barrel threaded and put a thread protector on it . If nothing else it would add to the looks . Have you shot it yet ? Where did you source the barrel from ?

Actually, threading the barrel and installing a compensator of some sort would really jazz it up a bit more, although it'd complicate fully field stripping it.

Just assembled this latest iteration today, so no it hasn't been shot yet. I have some slight concern about the extra mass of the slide impeding cycling. I'd had that barrel for decades and honestly don't recall where I got it from.

I was surprised to see the bobbed hammer. The pistol looks like a bullseye competition pistol normally shot single action. I’ve seen good shooters shoot out the X and ten ring with rack grade 39/439 at 25 yards.

The 115 grain flat base JHP bullets like Sierra were pretty accurate in the S&W 39/59 series before the 9 mm started gaining attention during the wonder 9 years.
