Well the growing season for tomato's are coming to a end..I still have quite a few green ones..Time for fried green 'maters..
I do a pretty simple way to fry them..

Mix buttermilk and a dry mix Cajun fish seasoning, coat and pan fry..Better in a deep fryer, but too much of a mess..

What are your favorite recipes, Keep it simple, :)

Dip in milk or buttermilk, dredge in cornmeal/flour mix, salt, pepper, fry, eat, return tray to it's upright position, wait until ride comes to a complete stop, merge left, apply pressure, shake well before using, lather, rinse, repeat and dispose of properly.

Make a Southern BLT using fried green ones instead of ripe ones.
Mmmmmmmmmm!

Dredge in flour w/salt pepper garlic & onion powder, dip in beaten egg, dredge in flour mix again then fry.

Slice and roll in cornmeal, salt, pepper and fry in meat grease. Slice and sprinkle with Old Bay Seasoning and cook over open wood fire. I haven't ever tried frying with the OB seasoning but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Larry

Poke holes in chicken, 1/3 sprite, whole bottle of italian dressing in a ziplock, fridge overnight. Butterfly them, put artichoke hearts on them, chopped in half golden cherry tomatoes, mozerella and parm on top, bake at 400 for 50 mins...mmmm

I have no idea

Howdy,
I never messed with green tomatoes. Would they make a decent Verde sauce? May not be up to tomatilla standards but might be worth a try.
Thanks
Mike

Sorry guys==must be an acquired taste! Wife cooked fried green tomatoes for the first time last night. Spit out the one bite I tried==worst thing I've tasted in years!

However, green tomatoes (with some peppers) do make a pretty good sweet/hot relish!

Heat some oil, add slices and Johnnys seasoning salt, garlic and pepper. Leave the flour, buttermilk and rest of the non essentials in the pantry.
