I am looking for suggestions for a front night sight for my M&P 9mm full size. I want to get one that is the same height as the original one. My gun shoots perfectly with my load and I don't want to change the sight alignment.

I am getting older and the front sight is hard to find at times. I have front night sights on my Glocks and that works great for me. I would like to set up my M&P the same way.

Thanks for your suggestions

I have the same vision problem. A lot of my guns have fiber optic front sights. My Kimber has night sights and it does well also but I think that's only because the sights are large. There are other options for a more highly visable front sight such as gold bead, big dot, etc. don't know if any of these are available for the M&P. the fiber optic is probably the most readily available. The night sights on my S&W gen 3 are pretty small. So small in fact that I have the front painted over with orange paint! You might try a small dab of fluorescent orange paint on the rear of the post before springing for a new sight. It has worked pretty well on several of my guns.

I have XS big dots on my S&W M&P9c and XDm and Glock factory front night sights with the factory rears on my Glocks. Looking for a front sight for my M&P Full size that would be more precise for me than my big dots on this gun.

I would try fibers or tritium as long as the front sight height is the same as the original.

I don't think I would like to paint my sight. I'm sure it would probably help, but would like to replace the front to solve my problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Lots of options out there. 10-8 Performance makes a very nice Tritium front sight for the M&P. Also available in Fiber Optic and Brass Bead (my preference).

The height for the standard factory sight is .160"
