Full circle…again. Pocket Carry…best gun

You guys must be running around in cargo pants to conceal these .380, .38 cannons.
Everyone that wears jeans knows that the king of pocket pistols is the Browning Baby loaded with Mag-safes in a custom pocket holster.

I have two Baby Brownings, both blued. One came in one of those little pistol rugs that Browning used to supply, and the other came with a really cool 'Alfonso's of Hollywood' pocket holster, which is custom fitted to the little guy. I have carried it in a front jeans pocket, but somehow it just doesn't seem to give me the same feeling of security that, say, my 340PD, loaded with Speer short barrel .357 mag 135gr at only a few ounces more weight does.

A 640 in .38 special, carried in a DeSantis Nemesis. Pachmayr Compac grips. I like the extra heft, and the Compacs give a good hold and excellent recoil absorption.

I've carried this combination daily for over sixteen years. If anyone has ever spotted it (and I do wear jeans a good deal) no one has shown any interest.

I've considered a small, flat autoloader as backup or for extremely rare occasions when I have to dress up. So far the J-frame is just fine.

Well, since I last posted in this thread, I've picked up the newer LCP, this one with the stainless slide. Surprisingly better trigger and slightly better fixed sights. A dab of bright colored nail polish at the front & rear sights (to aid in 'stacking' alignment), and the little gun has been great.

Some range time using it has demonstrated that it's not only easier to shoot than my first one (the older version), but also easier to run than my J's.

The little LCP digested a variety of the JHP's I usually use, and produced some decently tight shot strings out to 15yds when running it through a qual course-of-fire.

Of course, it's still a trade-off in the bullet weight category, but it slips into pockets that won't fit my J's.

My neighbor carries an SCCY 9mm and likes it a lot.

I forget to add....

No double stacks. Meaning no glocks unless they make a g42 sized 9mil. I will not hold my breath on that one.
I have a g19/17/34 and use them for OWB.

Weight is a major factor for pocket carry.

While I like the shield....it's too big for pocket. Great for IWB.

Thanks.....keep the info coming

I ought a Glock 26 and subsequently walked into a deal on the Glock 27 (40 S & W). Previously I was usually carrying a 649 or 438 in 38 spl. Pocket carry because I was usually too lazy to mess with a holster. For various reasons, my wife started carrying the Glock 26. Her complaint was the thickness of the grip. I walked into a Glock 43 (most places said they couldn't get them=local Ace Hardware had the 27 and then the 43). I bought the 43 and my wife loves it. I testfired it because she couldn't get away from work. Not a hitch (none with any of my 4 Glocks, BTW). Ironically, I didn't like it because ethe grip felt TOO narrow to me. A friend of mine (USDA Special Agent) loves his and we're both large men, about the same size. Just sayin".......

Well from what I can see I'm unique at least to this thread:
I carry a PA63(PP clone) in 9mm Marakov. This gun has been 100% reliable but a magazine thru it will numb your shooting hand. I don't think this would be a problem if I ever had to really use it.
The pistol is very thin and here in the land of "minimalist clothing" that's an important point.

Bodyguard .380 fits in the watch pocket of my U.S. Made jeans.

.380 ammo has come a long way in recent years.
