So as some of you may already know, my SD40 VE already had the Galloway Precision Trigger Spring Kit installed lowering down the trigger pull to around 5lbs.

Today I got a package in the mail with the Galloway Precision:

22lb Guide Rod in Stainless Steel
The wide body takedown lever
Grip kit

Pics below!

I feel that the thumb grips are tacky and I'm prob going to remove those. I like the rest of them, they definitely feel good and sturdy.

Your weapon should already have a bit of stipple where you'd index finger the gun. You are supposed to put those ovals above the palm swell, where your thumb would rest. That's why it don't feel right.
Put them on both sides, directly below the slide lock release on the left side...and same place on the right side.

hmbiohazard has the stainless spring and guiderod as well. I'm going to try and shoot his one day.
My SD is up for sale...but I'd still like to see how she shoots with that mod.

Next mod, get the Apex trigger. Much less pre-travel and zero over travel.

Here's where they belong.

I thought maybe that was a Massachusetts thing....LOL.
They do give it a real nice feel in your hand. Not too grippy, just enough.

They do feel very nice.

Why are you selling your SD? What are you planning on replacing it with?

I can't wait to try the new rod.
Thanks for helping me figure out why those thumb grips didn't look right!

I like and shoot my mp40c better. Also my edc gun.
I am in the market for a long barrel 9mm mp for range and maybe even some idpa.

My girl has a brand new mp 9c...so I have a bug if needed.
Sd is a great gun...I just like my mp better.

Someday I'll be moving up to an m&p and giving the sd to the wife. Don't want it to go far now that I have it lol

let me know bro. ill come down to peters one day and throw some lead around

I did the 22lb spring and apex springs. Love it, shoots soo much better. I also have a m&p 40c which I do like more!!! Thinking about selling or trading my sdve. I was at peters last week with both guns for the first time and I shoot My 40c better as well. The sdve is still a great gun tho. And definitely recommend it to all

i refuse to buy guns from them. they are just too expensive. but for $12 per hour and they usually dont time you. its worth it for range time. i know dajogejr is out that way as well. we shoudl meet up for a shoot and maybe dinner at national coney at 696 n gratiot. they are very OC friendly and i tend to like their food. (yes i am an open carry guy. its a double sided blade)

i really liek CQT in shelby. great place. good ventilation. and i rented their full auto m4 before. lots of fun

Sell it. Mint shape, two gun shops offered me $175 for my Girl's SD9VE, and I bought her 9c from one of them.
You can get more if you sell it outright, and it's worth more to you.

Ya understand shops gotta make money on the gun too. But i couldnt give mine away for 175. Its too nice of a gun. I love when I see people trying to get 370 to 400 for their used sdve. Had someone tell me their 4 yr old stock m&p 45c was worth 700$ on armslist

$275 for that one, with those mods. is a good price. i like my zombie green SD40 lol. i wont be getting rid of it any time soon. peters wanted $459 for the SD40VE when i looked. i got it from another LGS for $279

that big of a price difference is unacceptable. for that reason only thing i buy from peters is mags if i cant find anywhere else.

their ventilation system on range sucks as well. but for the price and location its a decent place to shoot

Yep, I live literally 5 minutes away. It's close and easy, and they don't time you...usually it's empty. Just get one of the first few stalls so the targets don't blow back and forth.
I collect my fair share of brass too.
When I called originally looking for my SD40VE, they quoted me $450...but it may have been $459. I asked, dumbfounded...literally "We're talking about the SD40VE, right?"
They said yes...I said...buh bye.

Bought mine 359 new from Michigan, bought my girls' new from Ma's guns @ Novi for 329. I missed out on a used SD40VE from Michigun...him/hawed too much, for $279.
I understand a place has to make money, but if I'm going to drop a few hundred more on another gun, make it acceptable. If they would've offered 225 to 240, I would've taken it just to make things easy.
I sold the 9 for 275 cash, in person.

This week is tied up...although I'm open Sunday.
Next week, any day but Monday is good.
You guys put it together, I'll be there.
