Did anyone happen to catch the Gary Unmarried TV sit com the other night? Gary's brother, recently discharged Marine two tours of Iraq, was shooting at an indoor range with his brother Gary watching. If you saw the show, he violated every gun safety rule. For starters, he was shooting a .357 revolver with one hand and then turned completely around and pointed the gun at his brother while reloading. He slapped the cylinder closed with one hand as portrayed in the movies. After shooting another few rounds at the target, he turned around to his brother and huged him with the gun in his hand wrapped around his shoulder with his finger on the trigger. At no time did he take his finger off the trigger after shooting the target. As a law enforcement firearms instructor, I know he was not taught this kind of shooting instruction from the military and the type of shooting is not taught to law enforcement and civilian shooters. This type of shooting is what the gun protestors are looking for to blow this out of of porportion to the general public. I e-mailed the editor and vice president of CBS and on how distorted the segment of that range shooting displaying the violations of safe gun handling. Also, I emphasized that was not humor in any form. They have turned me off from watching any future episodes of Gary Unmarried.

I missed it.

Proper gun handling isn't the only thing they can't get right.

I saw it and I cringed every time I saw him waving that gun around. I would bet the anti-gun Director/Producer/Creep had him do that on purpose to show how dangerous guns can be. If nothing else it sent a subliminal message to anyone who watched it. They love getting their message across any way they can.

It is a comedy show and the handling of the firearm was part of the comedy. The show's intention was not be viewed as a training course, just a comedy.:)
