Gas or Electric??

Induction cooktops (AKA hob, for my English readers) work well

Caution: if you have a pacemaker, you want to keep your distance.

If you have a family history of pacemakers, probably better not to get the induction type.

The only reason we have an electric stove is because the gas pipes stopped 2 houses short of ours.
My wife hates the electric stove.
Here in Iowa MidAmerica gas (Warren Buffett company) will hook you up for free for all your natural gas needs. Had them run lines to both my pole sheds.

It kind of figures but in the Seattle area no new home construction can use gas, gas fitters are struggling for work. I love gas have it run everything from my standby generator to my water heater. Its so easy to control on the stove, I switched out the burners at least ten years ago when we remodeled the kitchen...this will be our last house.

I'd heard thie about WA state, although I didn't know it had come into effect already. Presumably applies to renovations as well? Are you still allowed pellet or wood stoves? Pretty much your only way to keep warm if (WHEN) the power goes out unless you have a big prime power genny.

Apparently Vancouver Island is going to do this as well.

What I'd like to know, can you pump 200 amps down a line that handles 100 amps? What kind of infrastructure is needed for everyone to have at least 200 or more amp service for all the equipment. What happens when you add the industrial requirement to all this. Although most companies run on electricity now. This green energy **** is only good for reducing the population, both human animal.

The new electric stoves can require a 50 amp breaker and a rewire. That makes a 350 amp service for a large new house a reality.
