gas ring data

I have a model 34-1. The factory fit gas ring protrudes .115" from the front of the cylinder. When the cylinder is closed, (bottom photo) there is .030" between the front of the gas ring and the collar at the front of the yoke.
I don't think this fitted gauge is critical, but you will typically have to remove some material from the front of the new gas ring to accommodate the insertion of the yoke barrel. Be sure to clean the ring cavity inside the cylinder well prior to pressing in the new ring. In my experience, the interior dimension of the ring is very tight, so you may need a finish reamer to open it to the desired diameter for your yoke.

The factory part number for the gas ring in the model 34 is 05245.
