Georgia expect to pass constitutional carry

I personally think a "Shall Issue" situation is the best compromise. I also think illegal possession of a firearm needs to be a much harsher situation, with mandatory charging. Let a judge decide, not lawyers "dealing"

Just my opinions.

There are costs involved with "shall issue". It costs me about $60 to get a license in this state. A person shouldn't have to pay the state for a license to carry. It should be the right of every citizen to defend themselves from criminal acts regardless of their ability to pay the state for that privilege. 2A says nothing about the states authority to regulate. That comes in 10A and the SC needs to decide if the state has a right to restrict such things as magazine capacity and shall issue. They seem to be dragging their feet waiting for states to decide for them. You won't have to wait much longer because CC is here to stay. No federal court is going up against that mandate.

There are federal and state laws enough to keep a restricted persons from carrying a firearm. A person who is restricted isn't going to apply for a permit to carry anyway.

Shall issue has been in the lower courts too long. The SC needs to rule on this so people in every state can at least get a permit to carry.

In my next post I'll tell you how I really feel about this. End of rant. ;)
