Ran across a video about what they called ghost loading a 12 gauge shotgun by inserting a shell in the lifter after the the round was put into the chamber. This was to add an extra round in capacity to the shotgun. The shotgun was fired a few times to show it was effective. I was wondering if this was a real solution or a recipe for jamming my shotgun. Anybody know about it?

Betting it is shotgun specific. I know on my Win M12, you can't get a shell into the lower chamber without pushing it into the tube first. I have a couple pumps and a couple autos and I think on all of mine you cannot get a shell to get past the follower once the action is closed.

Often works for me with 870s.
I have an auto where it bobbled once, but I cannot be sure that was an issue with either my technique or because the gun was in its first 50 rounds.

Works for me all of the time with my old H&K Benelli M1 S90, not so much with my other shotguns. Been successful once or twice with my 870.
