When we bought this house, it had a "modular" glass top. It has 2 easy to remove sections - each with a large and a small burner. I looked around and found a replacement module with coils. So now I have a side I can use for my cast iron stuff.
Down here in the woods we can't get gas so when we bought our new house 5 years ago we installed a black glasstop electric stove. It took me a while to get use to electric but it works fine. Since I'm the chief cook and bottle washer, I cook with almost all Lodge cast iron along with some family iron cookwear from the early 20th century. There ain't nothing better then collard greens and cornbread cooked in iron.
