When I was in the Army, I swear I could shoot pimples off a fly's butt at 400 yards with iron sights. Fast forward many years later and I now don't have to drink a 12 pack to see ugly women as the babes they are not. My conundrum has been, should I buy a new scope in order to hit the big, red, round thing in the 4 ft wide target 100 yards away, or get a pair of glasses to improve the efficiency of the iron sights on my 15-22? After consulting with my friend JD, Jack Daniels, I used the money I had hid from my wife to buy a scope for my rifle to BUY THE DARN GLASSES. Getting old $ucks! I just hope that my wife still looks good when the glasses come in. Otherwise, I'll have to trade her in for two 20 year olds when she turns 40 next month.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are....

Most people don't care who I am either. :o

Seriously, I am anxious for the darn glasses to come in. My goal is to out-shoot my 9 year old daughter and her damn, pink, Cricket rifle with my 15-22. Then, I'll go home, take a deep breath, walk in the house, and take a good look at my wife. Wish me luck!

Good luck I feel your pain.

With out glasses I could see the target but not the rear sight. With my glasses I could see the rear sight but not the target.

I went with a scope. I can focus the optics so that I can see when I shoot.

I took a look at my wife through the scope, she caught me and asked if I was practicing a kill shot!! I told her if I was I would give her a head start!!LOL

Good news, bad news. Being a member of AARP myself, I doubt that just new glasses will help your shooting that much. You are, after all, trying to focus on your front sight, while keeping the target and the rear sight aligned with it. I doubt the glasses will help that much with the front sight being in focus. I wear glasses to see far (for driving, etc.), and can't use them when shooting iron sights.

But - the glasses will ABSOLUTELY help you see the target, and now, by adding a red dot sight, you will be able to see the target and sight dot at the same time, thus hitting the 4 ft wide target, and probably the big red round thing in the center of it.

A scope would help too, with or without the glasses (still not sure myself if it's better to wear glasses with a scope or no - probably depends on whether you have astigmatism or not).

Oh, and let me know when you trade your wife in. I'm thinking about trading my 60-year old for a 20 and a 40. :)

Dang it! I knew I should have bought the scope. Now, I am out my scope money and I'll be able to see what my wife really looks like.

Do you think we can get some kind of group discount?

How dso you go about trading them for 2 twentys? I would settle for 2 thirty-fives.

Are you guys nuts? Two of any estrogen producing persons is 1 too many...

(35 is better than twenties in my opinion....)

One in the hand is worth two in the bush. Wait who said that? Anyway my thought is the newer models may have more features and better lines but require allot more mantinance and cost. If the old one works I would keep it. Any by the way a scope worked for me. Hitting a dime at 30 yards.
