It's been a long, long dry spell for them. I hope they do well. Too bad they didn't have the supporting cast when Barry Sanders played; that would have been REALLY something to watch.

The curse of Bobby Lane may well be finally over!!
Since my Saints went to the Super Bowl the Lions are the only NFC team that has yet to make it. I hope to see them in the NFC championship down here in New Orleans in January. ;)

I jumped off that band wagon about 8 years ago. Started enjoying my Sundays.

Now I'm....fighting.....the....urge....to ....jump.....back....on....................dang it........

1957 was a LONG time since a championship. I think it's looking good but we got a lot of season left

Don't count on Minnesota being "interesting" - no secondary, weak pass rush, and predictable offense....and oh yeah, they lie down and whimper in the second half. Should be another blowout - unless, of course, the desperate Vikes go with one of their "other" QB's...now THAT might be interesting.

I root for Detroit. I like the QB, WR, and the D line. Still, long shot to make the playoffs, but no more 0 and something.

Being a lifelong resident of the Enchanted Mitten (otherwise know as Michigan), I have also been laboring in the salt mines with the rest of the Lions fans since 1984...the last time they were remotely good.

Now, for those of you who are dyed in the wool Michigan sports fans, you'll also remember that the Cats (a.k.a. Detroit Tigers) won the World Series in '84 as well. Now...I don't want to get too prognosticator-ish, but the way Verlander is throwing, well let's just say he's really good and they have a shot...a chance at the World Series. Goooooooo CATS!!!!

GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!

I just hope they don't end the season at 2-14 ;)

I thought '83 was an up year for Lions, perhaps I'm remembering wrong. What about the early 90's, they were decent enough & somewhere in there made playoffs. Remember when Scott Mitchell threw for 4K yds.?

Only 2 W's, not gonna happen. I don't see a winless season ever happening again, long as current regime is there. Barring the old man.

Now, long as QB stays healthy, Calvin, Best, Burleson & other talent on offense; D line will take care of business. Chris Houston & Alfonso Smith are talented stars too. They continue to get better & grow as a team as they spend more time next to each other as teammates. Prediction: No less than 8 wins!

29aholic, you said, "I think it's looking good but we got a lot of season left."
Were you ever a resident of MI or just a diehard Lions fan that withered the storm that has lasted so many yrs.?

Well as predicted the game was interesting but they made a comeback to win. We'll see how they do in Dallas.

Having been a Packers fan for about forty years, I realized that my steadfast support was what won them the Super Bowl last year. So..... I told my wife in June to pick me up a Lions jersey the next time she was down in Las Vegas. I've been wearing it since the season started.
As you can see, it's working!
Go Lions.:D

:D:D:D:D:D:D

Finally, you guys up in Michigan have got be be going nuts.:D

Never jump off the bandwagon, I have been a Patriot's fan since
1961 and suffered for many years. In fact suffered a bit with New England's performance last Sunday up in Buffalo.:(

Before we had the Patriot's, all of us were Giant fans, only game in town at the time.

As always, it's great when the home team chalks up those wins, hope they keep going, I am really happy for all of you Lion's fans.:)

Don't even talk to me about Minnesota being bad. We took Tarvaris Jackson off your hands. Don't they call that addition by subtraction?

I figured my Seahawks would at least win a home game this year (thank you, Cardinals) so we wouldn't go 0-16. Maybe we can beat the Bengals or the Redskins since we get them out here, but other than the Rams at home the rest of our schedule looks like one "L" after another. 4-12 is better than 1-15 except on draft day. No Andrew Luck for us.

If you think there was an outcry when Seattle won the NFC West last year at 7-9, wait until somebody (San Fran?) wins it this year at 6-10.

With the greatest respect to the Texas Members-I hope the Lions beat the snot out of Dallas this week :D

Took them awhile to get it done, but they did.

One of these days they are gonna have to start playing the whole game instead of just the second 1/2

Da Bears will be next victims. I should be a Colts fan.

Hey - Cheer up :) ---
Cutler has even hinted that some of the offensive linesmen are remembering to block...
They can only get better

Hopefully detroit will go into the game thinking that it will be an easy win - One can hope ;)

Go Bears!

HEY - Da Hawks crank up this week too...

I guess y'all now know that my second favorite NFL team is the one that's playing Dallas in any given week :D
I'd like to see them play LSU or Alabama.

I watched the game yesterday, they sure are for real and are adding a lot of spice to the NFL. GO LIONS

If there is one person I dislike in the entire NFL, it's the man that dosen't stay where he belongs. The famous Jerry Jones, who should be selling hot dogs at the concession stand during the game.

I'll bet the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans is enjoying himself this season.

I'm finally thinking my Lions are the real deal and on the way to respectability. Every week I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

That said, I think we have the right coach and staff and are started on the road to rebuilding the franchise with a core of quality players. However the "O" line is going to need an overhaul sooner than later. I also think Matt Stafford has the tools to become an elite QB and nobody knows a bad team until you go 0-16 and when your there the only way is up. Thanks, Matt Millen for all you have done for the Lions. To all "da Bears" "cheeseheads", and "purple people eaters" fans - the kittys are coming back and your team needs to triple team Calvin but watch out for Kong Suh.

So, if your steadfast support got GB a SB, please do the same for us LIONS fans. ;)

labworm, us guys in MI absolutely are going nuts. I had to be a closet LIONS fan for yrs. Last yr, not so much. Now, it's gettin better all the time.

BaldEagle, Seahawks can go 0-16 to tie, ahh, another team that did it. And yes, Seattle winning NFC West last year at 7-9 was pathethic as far as records go, that was all it took. 6-10? If a team can't go 7-9 or .500 even, it should be a rule, no playoffs.

Yes, but they gotta stop doin this. It worked against the Cowgirls, ain't gonna fly w/. the Pack, or Saints. Maybe Chargers. An we know how how they did in Dallas. :D

JcMack, best you're not a Colts fan, maybe next yr.
I had to adopt the Colts as my team, along w/. Steelers & Vikes. I did that about 2-3 yrs ago, but still quietly rooted for my Lions. When Schwartz came in, good changes were & are being made. Dry spell is gone, after too many yrs. :)

Others are waiting for that shoe too. Well said.

Time to get rid of Peterman, he costs us too many penalities last yr, & even has a few this yr. Needs to work on his disclipline (or lack of).
Stafford is an elite QB, just needs to stay healthy.
