Going down that road again!

as a 3 time cancer survivor, one of which was in my right lung...
I send you prayers for a great outcome... we can remember back to the fear of the unknown the first time you heard the dreaded words "you have cancer"... we don't have that anymore... we have experience on our side and know that "thing" can be beat...
stay strong, you have this...

Just found your post. Really feel for you. Have had to many rounds of cancer in my family. Negative results were with family members whose cancer was found late. Thank God your cancer has not spread all over the place. God bless you through surgery, treatment and recovery. Sincerely. bruce.

I wish you well on your follow up

Thank you. MRI and ct-scans came back clean.

They were injecting a modified herpes cold sore virus directly into 3 advanced stage IV metastatic melanoma tumors on one of my ears. After 5 injections I told them I wanted to take a break for a while. My doctor visits are about a 400 mile round trip and I've done that drive over 80 times over the years.

I stopped the injections back in April and my immune system continues to kill the cancer. Two of the three tumors are now gone and the third one, which was the largest is still going away.

They have "energized' my immune system via infusions of immunatheropies and it now literally kills the cancer once it recognizes it. They trigger my immune system by injecting a virus into the tumor. I was a pioneer in immunatheropy treatments.

Its amazing how far cancer treatments have come in a very short time.

We scheduled my next followup in four months.

Good luck with your treatment.

Here's hoping for a positive outcome for you. Stories like yours are what make most of us older guys afraid to go to the Doc.

rubiranch,,,,glad to hear this and I hope you stay on the mend. That is really great news.
Still waiting for results and treatment start. They talk of using this new MRI radiation machine on this. Only 3 in the nation and we got one. Brand new equipment.
Taking it day to day...;)

Thank you. I don't fight cancer. Cancer fights me. :B

That is soo AWESOME!!!!!!

As I mentioned they are making great advances in cancer treatment.

Where I get treated they are building a proton treatment center.
Another addition to the old building.

This is where I have been treated, the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City.

My neurologist told me that when they first opened back in 1999 chemo was the only treatment available for the type of cancer that was experiencing and the survival rate was next to nil.

I was diagnosed 10 years ago and at that time I was given less than a 15% chance to live for 5 more years.

Here I am, 10 years later. 3 years clean (other than some small stuff on the outside). Next followup in 4 months.

Attitude and gratitude. Cancer hates love and hope and thrives on hate and fear.

Kick its butt.
