Golden Saber Bonded

My MP40 Pro seems to love 165 grain Golden Sabers, now I see some that say "Bonded". They do look different than the usual Golden Sabers in my ammo collection. Anybody have any info on them.

Bonded means that the jacket is more securly attached to the lead. I've seen the GS Bonded rounds in many tests. If I knew I was going to be shooting through auto glass, the GS bonded
round is 100% without a doubt the round I'd choose.

Bonded is intended primarily for penetrating intermediate barriers and staying intact. The trade off is it tends to expand a bit less in gelatin and people. I'm fine with the standard Golden Sabers. The jacket separation you sometimes see in tests is often when it is shot into water instead of ballistic gelatin. Water is a lot harder and not representative of the human body. I would not worry about it either way. Golden Sabers are very effective loads in all calibers I've seen.

I used my Marlin Camp .45 on doe day carrying +P handload GS 185gr and took a neck shot on a good sized doe. the jacket was stuck in the bone the core went on through dern near took the head off.
