Went ot the local gun auction yesterday and got lucky twice. First I picked up a four screw combat masterpiece with just a little blueing rubbed off the front of the barrel for $360. Then a four screw 6 inch M&P in the same condition for $240. Looks to have come from the same collection and just test fired and put away. Hope my lucky streak continues when I go to register them. I bought from this auction before and most of the time the guns are just shown by themselves. When I go to the shop to register them most come with boxes and paperr work.
Please, please, please come with boxes.
Will try to post pics later[like 2 weeks] I live in California. So this shop still wants to do the 10 backround even if they are both C&R.
Would like to know approximate shipping dates for the two. K157xxx and C113xxx. Thanks in advance for anyone with this knowledge.

Good buys both, particularly for high-priced California. Please post pics when you can.

Does the M&P have a C-prefix serial number (1948 or later), or is it a prewar gun (just six digits, no letter)?

K157XXX should be a 5-screw - have to count the screw in front of the trigger guard.
Its an early 1950's gun - maybe 1951 or 1952. C11XXX is probably 1948, maybe 1949.
In fact, they are both 5-screw guns.

Thanks Mike,
I was looking at other guns at the auction. Just took a quick look at both for condition. Saw the four screws on the side plate and knew they wer're somewhat collectable. Both are 95% plus condition. Funny how I was looking to buy something else and just couldn't pass up the price on these two.
