Hey guys,

I have a sw9ve, i was wondering what you guys use to clean your bore and innerds of your pistol that is safe for my polymer grip? I am currently using hoppes # 9 Elite cleaner but was wanting to know what are my other options, and how do you know if a cleaner will damage polymer...will it say it on the label...do not use on polymer?? and Thanks in advance to all!!

I am not aware of any product marketed as a gun cleaner that will harm polymer frames. Where folks usually run in to trouble is when they try to save $$ and buy the wrong brake or carb cleaner to do the job.

thanks for clearing that part of it up lol i though there was gun cleaners that would clean your gun but could hurt polymer, i dint know if there was something everybody else knew that i dint about gun cleaners......but now thinking about it i think i read the label of CLP sometime back and i think (if im wrong please correct me) it said something about possibly hurting a finish...ill have to go read it and make sure....

I am a frog lube convert. The stuff works great and smells minty fresh.

are this products that i can get at walmart or if website please let me know. thanks guys!!

brownells.com would carry it all, and many other places. I try to order when I have a list so postage is not bad that way.

You can get a lot if it local in your gunstore too, except for the frog lube. I'm not sure if wal mart carries it. Where I am, they do not.

Here ya go... really can't go wrong with any of them. No need to over think it.

Guys thanks so much for the help and the advice. i think the best i like so far is hoppes #9 elite. CLP powder blaster a good cleaner?

When the gun is field stripped, the barrel gets the Hoppes treatment, the rest gets sprayed down with WD40, tooth brush, compressed air.

Good Gun Cleaner

I would use MPRO-7 products. Have been using them for years and are safe for polymer. I have shot over 5000 rounds from my Springfield XD-40 and it is very clean without any trace of powder using their products and technique. Many Police Departments and Military use the product and are greatly impressed with the results. It is earth friendly and gentle on your hands.
