I traded a pristine condition Charter Arms Undercover (2 inch barrel, mfg late 70s) and a 22 RG23 revolver plus $150 for a good condition Model 36 (short barrel, mfg mid 60s). How good of a deal did I make?

I think you did well.

A Charter Arms and $150 for a S&W 36 is good. Plus you got rid of an RG while you were at it. I'd have done it too.

Smart trade on your part. How did you ever find a dealer willing to take an RG? Aren't you worried what'll happen when he sobers up??
