Well it`s been a good week... I just ordered a new M&P full size9mm... And I resurrected my 20 year old S&W 686-4 that I never shot... it`s new and a beautiful gun...

This will be my first M&P....I had 4 Glocks over the years and had troubles with a Gen4-19 that just po`ed me to the point of selling all...Anyway I`ll be getting my new M&P later this week...I`m looking to do a few mods...only because I can`t leave anything alone...I just found out that S&W made a trigger change some months back and I`m hoping my gun has the upgraded trigger....If it has the old trigger I`ll be buying a new trigger and make the change...

I`m looking to do some mods what would you do? It will be a range gun...I got spoiled with Glock having endless custom parts...so I`m hoping there will be enough things to do to keep me busy:D....Jim

PS...where do you get that magwell extention I see in the M&P picture thread...?

Congrats on the mp9. Funny thing is I picked up a mp 40 about a month ago and have put a apex kit in it as it needed it and what a difference. Keep in mind mine is a MA compliant with a 10.5lbs pull. The funny thing is when I was starting to look for my 40 I broke out my 686-6. It is not a never been fired gun but I keep it nice. There is something about a SS firearm that just has a look. Goes with my 622. Now I am getting back to reloading for all the calibers I have.

I recently traded my Glock 19 Gen4 for an M&P 9. I had bought an M&P 22 and loved the ergonomics of it, so traded the Glock for the Smith and NO regrets, I love it. I am not about to bash Glocks as I have had several and they perform great, the M&P just fit my hand better. I still have a Glock 26 Gen 4 and am currently seeking to trade it for a Shield.

I have a 686 as well, my favorite gun. I can hit a small target at 50' with this gun repeatedly. Don't get in my way type of gun. The Apex trigger upgrade is really good, I added it to my 40c and love it. I had a very gritty trigger, and it was causing me to shoot a little low. After doing the Apex trigger this pistol shoots right on.

I also have an M&P 40 and recently installed the Apex trigger and striker block upgrade. Huge improvement in trigger feel; tightened up patterns, too. Love my M&P 40 (especially after Apex upgrade) and wanted to get an M&P 9, but heard too many bad things about barrels and reliability so ordered a Glock 19 instead.

10 1/2 trigger pull...I`d say you needed a new trigger...I didn`t know MA required a trigger like that...In a perfect world I`d like a 3 1/2 lb. trigger to shoot at the range...I know I won`t be getting that with the factory but hopfully the Apex can get closer..Jim

I`m not bashing the Glocks but I was one that purchased a Gen4 19 when they first came out and had lots of headaches trying to fix the problems...so much so I just decided to move on and since I love how the M&P fits and looks it was a logical choice...I will miss the big aftermarket that the Glocks have but as I read the M&P is getting better....Jim
