Any body using it? there seems to be some thought that it is the best browser. Don't know much about it. I guess it's a free download.Any negatives?

Brave is what I prefer for privacy reasons, but it may not be for someone that isn't willing to deal with certain issues that come with privacy on the web. It doesn't work on certain websites.

Firefox would be my next choice, and probably the easiest to integrate to.

Only then do I go to Chrome. I never use Edge.

Depends upon your expectation of privacy. Yes, google has an incognito selection, but that doesn't mean they're not tracking you. OTOH, you can use Google to get to the internet and use other sites-like duckduckgo- as the actual access to sites you want to visit.

Do get a VPN to limit the ability of others to acquire data on you.

It's largely a matter of personal opinion. I have Chrome, Firefox, and Opera loaded on my two laptops. I gravitate toward Opera, and have used it as my primary browser for many years. I use Safari on my iPad and iPhone only because they came with Safari, and I am too lazy to try any others. Most browsers now have built-in VPN capability, but it does slow things down.

I don't let snoopers bother me much, if they're that bored maybe I can help them get some sleep...I use Chrome exclusively with Edge on standby when I find a news source that blocks me...:)...Ben

I gave up on Microsoft IE years ago and use Chrome on my PC.
It works fine for me. I switched my search engine to DuckDuckGo because of their privacy policy.

This meme sums thing up in terms we all understand! ;)

I agree with several others on here, if you're not already addicted to the Google ecosystem, I'd stay away from it. Brave uses the same code base as Chrome, without the Google spyware built-in, however, I think I would go with Firefox due to the extensive collection of add-ins/plug-ins/extensions that it offers which rivals what Chrome also offers to it's user base. In my experience you'll take a speed hit when using Firefox when compared to Chrome, but it's probably worth it.

I prefer Brave to Chrome. A lot of Chrome features require logging in (so that they can more easily track you). Brave has the same features without a login requirement. I've found the bookmark and password syncing with multiple machines to be very handy. The only thing that Brave doesn't do it chromecast.

My primary browser is Firefox. I typically run Firefox with javascript disabled. If I need a site that uses javascript, then I use Brave.

If you use Chrome you can always feel a tickling at the back of your throat, because that's how far the hand of Google has been shoved up your behind. Then there is Google checking what is on your computer. Really? Whose computer is it anyway?

I only use it on websites where it is essential, and even then I try and keep its use to the company machine.

Not much love for edge it seems. My new Dell desk top came with Windows 11 and Edge browser. Not much to Edge it seems. Free Mcafee for a

short time. Is Mcafee really needed? According to tv commercials Chrome has Malware as part of it??? All very confusing to those of us who are minimally tech savvy.

The other security software packages are largely redundant today. The operating systems now have built-in security. Having said that, I still have Avast (free version) loaded on my laptops. Just belt and suspenders. Won't hurt, might help.
