I stopped using Google some time ago I now use Bing as my primary search engine. It is a whole lot better Google in my humble opinion.

So has anyone compiled a list of alternatives they've effectively switched to? I sure did like the early days when there were multiple practical alternatives. To be honest, the longer this internet fad lasts, the more useless it becomes

I've returned to AltaVista!!! I think Yahoo now owns it but at least it doesn't come with the yahoo skinning! This was one of my early favorites......

I use Dogpile. They actually are celebrating Easter. I switched to them last Pearl Harbor Day when google was doing some other PC bull-poop.

Try duckduckgo.com They do not track, you are not in a bubble ( their site explains it) and they also include a Google search link if you want more results. Not a bad site.

Lycos used to be good. Dogpile was good once. Alta Vista ruled the world for a while. Yahoo was nice for a while.

Sad thing is Bing and Google are the best actual search engines. Unfortunately, their corporate philosophy is *#&%(*@!
