Found this Model 411 at the LGS in the used gun case. Everything checked out and the price was $159. At that price, I figured that I couldn't go wrong, so I snagged it. It came to $175 after tax.

I removed some red paint or nail polish from the rear sight and now it looks almost brand new.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the 411 was the "value line" counterpart to the 4006, and was produced between 1992 and 1994 when, due to the Brady Bill, became the 10-shot 410.

Spot on, 'value' series pre-10 rd. I've only got to shoot the 410 but it shot well and felt good. That was a STEAL, good purchase

I consider it a pre-Value Line model like the 9mm 915. It does have simplified external machining on the frame and slide and non-Novak sights along with the single-side decocker/safety, but the real cheapening hadn't started yet. The barrel still has a locking lug that meshes with the slide and it doesn't have the plastic parts that define the VL series,.......sights, recoil spring guide rod and mag catch lock.

Regardless, that's a whole buncha pistol for $175. Great deal! I think I'd have bought it at $275.

WOW!!! I would call that an extremely good deal! :D :D :D

They saw you coming.

I'll give you $175.00 just so you don't lose your shirt when you go to sell this gun later.

Actually I'll buy just about any Smith I can get for under $200.00.

Nice find and a great deal.
