I had a coupon from Don Hume on Ebay in my email today, so I went over to see what they had. I'm a sucker for Hume's holsters. They really appeal to my sense of style at this point in my life. (I was near-100% Safariland-Bianchi when I was working, for the same reason.)
The very first piece on the inventory page jumped off the page at me. All I know is that they describe it as a holster for a snub nose K-frame. I have no idea how to explain its function. I've never seen anything like it, either. I grabbed the 2 photos available to show.
I bought it immediately - the listing said they were down to one. For $27 after coupon and tax, it was a no-brainer to get something so unique, even if it turns out to be kinda stupid.
The stamp on the back says "Don Hume, Miami Okla.",
"QK" and "No. 1".
So what do y'all think?

It looks more like a Cuff Case than a revolver holster ...

It is different ... I would love to see a K-Frame stuck in there ...
might make more sense .

I poked around on the Don Hume web site but didn't see anything that looked like that in the K-frame S&W (model 19) section ...
I'm going to look under J-Frame and see if it shows there .

It is Cool ... Nice Catch !

Not like anything in the catalog and weird for cuffs - or anything else I can think of.
No.1 is the fit code for S&W K frame revolvers.
Maybe a failed prototype for ... something...
Let us know when it arrives!

Thanks! I agree, at first I thought it was a cuff case also. That QK isn't anywhere that I can find.

Sir, that's a Don Hume Cuff case.

Well, that's what I thought, but the description says it's for a K-frame 2". I did as much of a search as I can, trying all sorts of combinations and also without a specific model. Nothing.
I suppose it could be in the wrong package.... if so, I'll either return it or sell it.

Don Hume web catalog shows ten different "Cuff " Cases ...
It isn't one of those ten .
The QK ... could that be a miss print ... their address is
Miami , OK ... Oklahoma ... maybe the O stamp got mixed up with the Q stamp ???
This is a ...Very Interesting What is it !
Keep us posted ,
Gary

I doubt that is for a gun. If it is, it would be a good way to drop a gun!

I just had a thought ... leather Slapjack holder ...
I don't think they are used any longer but a SlapJack might be what went in that case .
At least we called them SlapJacks ... also heard the term "Sap" used .
Don Hume catalog shows nothing for "slapjack " or "sap" !!!

Must be some elder Law Dogs out there that remember the sap aka slapjack ...
I think another term was " Blackjack" ... been a long time !

I totally understand about liking a style and manufacturer. At this time in my life I’m a sucker for vintage Bianchi holsters, but they’re not cheap.

Deals are still out there. Saturday, I picked up a nice Bianchi Cyclone for N frame 6-6.5" at a swap meet. Seller very quickly accepted my $20 offer; I should have started my negotiations at $10. :D

Looks like a "Speedcuff" case. Solid handcuffs that were and still are very popular with the UK Police. They really liked their tools, as most were not armed. They took up a lot of space on a duty belt, got in the way of other gear and stuck out away from the body too much I think for most american officers. Don't think they ever took hold here.

As I recall they were marketed as "Speedcuff" in the beginning and than taken over by Hiatt, but don't quote me on that.

Looks like we have a winner. Internet search for leather speedcuff case brings up lots of different examples. This one looks a lot like the one in the OP
