MEMORANDUM FOR NEW & AMENDED LICENSES
Please note that stamped on the face of your pistol license is the legend "HUNTING, TARGET, CAMPING & HIKING". These are restrictions placed on your license that indicate during what activities you may carry your handgun. You may possess a firearm on your person or securely in your vehicle when engaged in hunting, fishing and trapping.* Additionally, you can possess the firearm when traveling to or from a target range or while at the range. You may also possess the firearm while at your camp or tenting in the woods, but not state parks. You may also possess the firearm while hiking in the woods. This also includes cross country skiing, snowmobiling, A.T.V.'s, biking or jogging. These restrictions will not prohibit you from transporting your firearm while travel- ing to or from a gun show, a dealers place of business, or another residence owned by you. Your license does NOT authorize you to carry a firearm on your person or in your vehicle at any other time for any other reason not listed above. WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING YOUR FIREARM FOR THE PURPOSES INDICATED YOU SHOULD INSURE THAT IT IS SECURE IN A SAFE PLACE. IF YOUR FIREARM IS EVER LOST, MISPLACED OR STOLEN, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF THAT YOU HAD USED DILIGENCE IN SECURING YOUR FIREARM.
