Definitely keeping them on the gun if o get it. Serial number is S237xxx. What do you guys think a fair price is for. Both parties, no box or tools, just the gun.

Thanks in advance

IMO unless you are specifically looking for a 1964 gun condition and originality of the package are paramount in estimating value of a collectable gun, for that you need to have it in hand.

If the mechanics and finish are perfect and round count low (remove stocks to inspect as well as closely examine the recoil shield in any Magnum revolver)
If perfect Gun is likely $1000 and stocks add another $450(ish).

If the gun is very high condition it becomes tempting, if it has finish flaws it becomes a shooter with $450 stocks.

Im not a Model 29 expert and this is all just my "Opinion"...

I just purchased a model 27 no dash from the same guy, strong 95% gun with just a drag line and a hint of muzzle wear, he said this gun is in better condition with just a drag line, I won’t see it until Tuesday.

Sounds like both members who offered estimated values are pretty much in agreement at $1,500, give or take.

Let's see:
An S prefix high condition .44 Magnum with cokes.
$1,500 sounds pretty reasonable to me. Close to being a bargain.

Here's my 1962 S230291 M29-2. I didn't know they were going for that much.

I've been told by others that's its a very early M29-2.

I sent in for a letter July 27, check cashed August 22 - today Sept 30 still no reply. :(

Sounds like you will be making a good deal.

…………..
One observation if I may about "coke bottle" stocks. I think that term is used by Supica in his book (no, I am not going to go look it up right now.) Of course most of us just say "cokes" but really, that's just slang.

Let's go easy on new members with the "correct" terminology enforcement policing. Even for long time members all the "clips vs magazines", "grips vs stocks", etc., debates are starting to get old and tired. Call it what you think is right to get your point across. Some day if you aren't driven away by the correctness police, you may pick up the standard terminology if you think it makes sense.

Mr. Flash, could we just say "palm swell targets"? With a bigger checking field and an oval bottom. And a diamond around the screw head. And a small relief on the left grip.
