I i know I started a thread asking for 40S&W info and got lots of great info.
I kinda went against some members who said look at some 4006 and 4013> As the 4013 would be closest to what i was asking for.
But this 410S was just to cheap and nice to pass up. New in box with papers and 3 mags. And the larger size like my 5906 is fine.
Came with new installed Novac{sp?} night sights plus the take offs as well.
Have a new metal Guide Rod {Mint Used} to swap that as I just did not like the plastic.
Is the hammer the only other part that is not metal?
Is so would like to grab one to keep on the side if ever needed and would also like to get a few extra magazine base plates.

A quick call to S&W does not carry them parts any more. And were told us 3rd gens guys are left on our own.
Was told that base plates are same ones as 5906 mags take but of the have none lol And was told that the recoil spring that goes on Guide Rod is same in the 4516,5906 and 410S i have how can that be the same?
As in 9mm/40 and 45acp be spring rate in pounds
Also just a stupid question? Seems like the Guide rod would be easy for someone to make if a good used one could not have been found shape wise 100% but the spring loaded pin with be the hard part.
I never thought about it in the past but why would the pic need to spring in and out Compress?
So thanks again for the help and info on the 3rd gens guys

The hammer is metal (MIM: Metal Injection Molding).

No, you are correct, they are NOT the same recoil spring. Actually five different springs (the 4516 took, at different times, a single and a double spring).

The recoil spring does not hold the slide stop in place. The spring loaded pin is what keeps the slide stop from falling out at inopportune moments.

no the hammer is steel (mim steel but it is steel)
the disconnector is plastic (but they say its really low drag compared to steel)
the mag catch button if not the entire assembly is plastic

and cdnn has a bunch of base plates a while back
/me has a look......
nope dont see them
but might give them a email or call
they have had a great price on magazines and it looks like it got even cheaper

now get out there and shoot that girl!!
when you find her reset youll fall in love

410S recoil spring

...And was told that the recoil spring that goes on Guide Rod is same in the 4516,5906 and 410S i have how can that be the same?

I searched the S&W parts catalog for that (410) recoil spring number (895240000) & 25 other guns use that same spring, none of which were the 4516 or 5906.

Just saying when i ordered a new spring from S&W he says oh same length guide rod And spring as the 4516,5906 ect if use a single spring. I did not think that could be right
And saw that wolf listed different ones. So figure it could not be same one
