I got mine yesterday, was up reading in be until ~1:30AM - until my wife threw a pillow at me for not being able to sleep as I had my night lamp on...
I made her a cup of coffee this AM, and we are good...

I like a lot of the new stuff and they way most things are arranged, but the print got smaller. It will be interesting to see how much things are changed in the descriptions. The values sure did get better, amazing how much difference 8 years makes.

Seems like most who have posted receiving their new SCSW mentioned they purchased via Amazon and I did as well. But something occurred to me while ordering and that was the number of times I have been away from office library and wanted to refer to my hard copy of the previous edition but had to wait until returning home.
So, in addition to a hard copy of the new edition, I ordered the Kindle version and I'm loving it! Not only can I access this great reference from any of my electronic devices no matter where I am, I can highlight, bookmark, and add notes without "defacing" my new hard copy.

Just to be inquisitive.....
I only care about the old stuff. Items made in recent years will not grace my safe. That said, I have the 3rd Edition, bought right after I joined here.
With my criteria, what will the 5th edition give me that I don't already have?

I got mine today and am perplexed. I have a 629-6 with S/N beginning with CJD. I tried looking it up. 2004 jumps from CHT to CMC. 2005 jumps from CHT to CJE. Can't find CJD. I should add it's a Mountain Gun bought in 2005. Maybe that has something to do with the mystery. Any and all help appreciated.
