Got my Shield back ... Apex trigger , TFO night sights, KG gun kote =)

Does the new rear sight overhang a little, looks like it's slightly to large and sticking out past the slide? Or it could be just the photo. The finish looks fantastic.

Nice gun, I have the same sights for my M&Ps. I am hoping the Shied is available here at some point. Definately looking forward to getting my hands on one!!!

I have the Trijicon HDs on my G17 and really like the sight picture. What model number HDs did you order?

The ones for the full size M&P, they fit with a slight overhang in the rear, no drag on the slide in a holster though. I got the orange dot front. Model #SA1370

The sights are for a full size m&p so it's a compromise. If I sit here and hold the gun you can't tell, but If I close one eye and stare at the side of the slide, the rear sight might hang off a very minute amount. Maybe the thickness of a piece of paper? I'm pretty anal and it doesn't bother me. ;)

Perhaps with the popularity of the new Shield they will come out with a Shield specific rear sight. I was going to put a set of Trijicons on mine but these have me leaning towards them, kind of the best of both worlds. Again thanks for the great photos, your Shield is dressed to perfection.

That looks great. I love the concept of the tfo's. It looms like they reduce the sight radius quite a bit though. Have you noticed and significant difference in accuracy or do the sights characteristics negate the difference? I'm VERY interested in a set of those on my 40 compact.

I don't notice any difference in perceived sight radius. However, I will say the greatest improvement to accuracy for me is a nice trigger. I would rather have a nice trigger and factory sights if I had to choose.

I tell you its nice to have a light trigger and a safety IMO. My Bersa's trigger is so light and now I am concern about it having no safety at all since I am so used to my SHIELD.

Just for info. Do you have by any chance height measurements on your sights from the top of the slide top the top of the sight on the front and rear?? Was the kit that you got for and M&P or specifically for the SHIELD.

Thanks

Fercho

Best I could measure with my micrometer...
Front sight: 3.65 mm ( 0.1435 in.)
Rear sight: 5.80 mm ( 0.2285 in.) at it's highest point

These sights were made for a standard size M&P. (not the shield specifically)

Very sweet piece my friend!

I just had those same sights put on my m&p40. It shot better with the TFO's instantly for me. I see it did for you also. Very nice. Now I got that damn SHIELD BUG!!!

Birthdays in August. Let's see what the wife can do.

Yes, I love TFO's as they are bright in all lighting conditions. However, I would like to try out some trijicon HD's or warren tacticals on my next gun. Good luck with your Birthday pick up! I always try to slide one in for christmas and my birthday lol. ;)

Well, James did such a good job on my shield that I sent him my new build project and he painted it in the same finish. Looks like i'll have a matching set soon. =)
