Got Rid of the TV

We here ditched our cable earlier this year. We went with an Amazon Firestick and have purchased a Sling TV package. We have enjoyed this much better than cable. Found the outdoor channel and the cowboy channel on Wed. nights have the best shows ever. The only channel I have missed from our cable days is Animal Planet. Loved watching the shows about the Zoos and behind the scenes stuff. Even miss Crikey-Its the Irwins. But not enough to spend that much on cable again.

Yeah everything there trying to sell you can kill you. [emoji1]

I don't know about elsewhere but here about 75% of the commercials are for legal services related to class action suits or for pillows. I really only keep it for the History and Discovery channels and to watch NASCAR. I'm open to alternative suggestions!

Our Lawyer ones seem to be around the holidays.

I have air TV, which we watch very little of, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The latter two are about $10 per month each. Way more stuff on there than I want to watch. Of the two, I like Amazon Prime. New shows, old shows, original stuff, movies. No ads. As T-Star points out, too, there is a lot of good stuff on Youtube. Last spring, the 80s series Winds of War and War and Remembrance were available. (Stuff goes up and down — gets pulled for copyright infringement — on Youtube.)

Ya need a pretty good internet connection to successfully stream though.

I may cancel Netflix as we really don't seem to watch it much anymore.

I cancelled cable about 15 years ago. We do watch Netflix and Prime movies and get the news from the internet where we can check sources for one fake story against another fake story.
