My new Shield came in to my LGS and it is really a nice gun. However I couldn't take it home because it was impossible to get through to do the background check. Black Friday I guess. What a Bummer. Maybe tomorrow if I am lucky.

I've had the Shield 40 for couple of months now. I can tell you personally that it is every bit as nice as you may already heard. What I'm so amazed at is how accurate it is for such a small platform pistol. Lot of folks are going to use this pistol for CCW no doubt (that's why I purchased one). I've shot about 400 rounds now and it eats everything including my reloads. I know you'll be just as satisfied as I am with it.

Aw that sucks! I heard the system was down, but not sure if its true or just a rumor. I bought a rifle last night at blackfriday and walked out with it at 1:00 am using my CWP!

Bought my first pistol last year on black friday and it was a pain. Never thought it was a major day for gun sales, but the store was packed and a few weeks later read an article about how sales on black friday were record breaking. No doubt this year was probably worse..
I buy all my firearms at Gun Shows, It is a mini mall of dealers where you can compare prices, shop around or just talk about them. Most gun stores its just you and some guy who is just trying to sell you what he thinks is best, a lot less pressure. Much more social atmosphere at Gun Shows, at least in Iowa were we have pretty relaxed gun laws, don't even need to rent a table to bring your own guns in and sell them.
