I was finishing up my 4 mile walk half an hour ago. On the last little bit I am up on the sidewalk just before the house. Going the other way "Grandma" is pulling a large wagon outfitted with blankets, pillows and a 4 ft diameter umbrella. Like the Punjab of Old India there's a boy, obviously pre-school age, riding while holding his IPad. I am a nosy so-and-so and I hear him exclaim: "Grandma! I just died on this app again! I can't make it do what I want! I don't know if I can restart!......" I'm walking in the opposite direction so I didn't get Grandma's response. She was sweating more than me and I was making 17 minute miles.
I pass judgement often and regular, no different:
1) Grandma has obviously spoilt the "little angel"
2) Soul stealing technology strikes again. I'm sure he'll get a great $7 figure(money ain't worth much now, 20 years....) job as a bot slayer in the "GooGooPlex.
3) I can't figure a bigger handicap for a child than not walking next to Grandma, sweating in the sun, getting stronger by the day.
4) Zero "frustration tolerance" in the youngster. Definitely on track to be a pampered snowflake in a world of pampered snowflakes.
5) I have learned to mind-my-own-business so rather than continue to mind "not my business" Somebody stop me. Joe

I know how you feel. It's frustrating to say the least. Some years back, I had the opportunity of helping a young man acquire a college education at an incredible savings. I went to his home, visited with him, and then left shaking my head in disbelief. He wasn't interested in the slightest about furthering his education. He was very content to live with his parents and let them support him.

Sadly, I got the very strong impression that his main goal in life was to become a 12th level Galactic Warrior.

That's so true in so many ways! I never knew this when I was a kid, but there was a lot of money in the 'hood I grew up in. (Not my house!) But somewhere along the line my older sisters & their friends taught me how to scrape chewing gum off the sidewalk. Heck it was free! The pharmacist 2 doors down made a lot of deworming medicine! I reverted back to getting $.02 per pop bottle after I figured it out!

Maybe the child has some form of illness that requires he stay out of the sun and he can't sustain the walk?

That IPAD and the kindness of the woman pulling him could be his only exposure to the outside world.

I don't live there so I don't know. But you never know.

I try not to pass judgement. I have had my shot for the most part and have screwed up plenty so I won't be casting the first stone.

Now give me some more information that shows me otherwise and then we can launch the boulders.

Best I can do to satisfy your request from #5.
