Took the 15-22 out to the range yesterday. Shot 650 rounds.

We had 3 guys out shooting and had a blast!
Turns out we had too much fun and didn't bother too much with accuracy. The rapid fire went perfect. Not one error and we were shooting at least 2-3 shots/second.

No one fail to feed, fail to fire, stovepipe, or any error of any kind!

Improvements to come:

1. Buy another magazine. One simply isn't enough.
2. Bring optics out to the range
3. Take time to sight in for ONE person
4. Don't sit directly to the left of anyone within 4-8 feet. They will not like you in a very short time. We were dumping shells all over the guys next to us. They had shells in their face, clothes, and we saw some that we didn't want to get back, so when they get home, they will have some range "lagniappe" as we call it in Louisiana.

Yeah, that's especially a problem with the .22. I found that when you're sweaty, those little shells can stick to your skin, making a VERY nice burn in short order. ;-)

We were definitely sweating. It was upper 90's here and south Louisiana humidity makes 90 feel like wearing a warm wet blanket on a hot day! I'm just glad I wasn't the poor sap that sat to my right!

i always take a 9" x9" x12" cardboard box with me to the range, i fold the flaps in and set it directly next to the ejection port on the bench, instant spent casing catcher, and i dont pepper anyone next to me with hot brass

I will have to try that next time, thanks!

You madman shooting it without adding accsories :D

We had 3 guys out shooting and had a blast! how far was the target?Turns out we had too much fun and didn't bother too much with accuracy. The rapid fire went perfect. Not one error and we were shooting at least 2-3 shots/second.
DID you shoot it right out of the box or did you clean it first?

Improvements to come:

1. Buy another magazine. One simply isn't enough.Sounds like you need 3 one for each of you!
2. Bring optics out to the range(what kind?)
3. Take time to sight in for ONE person (would that be the owner of the M&P 15-22?
4. Don't sit directly to the left of anyone within 4-8 feet. They will not like you in a very short time. We were dumping shells all over the guys next to us. They had shells in their face, clothes, and we saw some that we didn't want to get back, so when they get home, they will have some range "lagniappe"( how do you pronounce that? as we call it in Louisiana.

Sounds like fun see questions in red!:)

1. 550 rounds of federal bulk, 100 rounds of CCI minimag
2. Spent the "trouble from lady" allowance on the actual gun
3. target was maybe 25 yards
4. I cleaned it before taking it to the range
5. Ya, one or two more mags
6. Any optic that can see 50 yds-100 yds so we can see what we are hitting
7. Yes, we will sight it in to me and they will have to deal with it.

8. la·gniappe [lan-yap, lan-yap]
noun
1. Chiefly Southern Louisiana and Southeast Texas. A small gift given with a purchase to a customer, by way of compliment or for good measure; bonus.

I use a spare target to bounce the casings back, its much worse for my 15 its also a bit overgassed, I guess S &W wants to be sure you get ejections lol :D
