Great GB deals that sold today. Good deals? Or?

Some that come to mind which I have used successfully are the sales forums here, gun shows, local gun stores and pawn shops and Cabela's online......Ben

It's all I've used except for one sale on here about ten days ago on a 25-5 4".
I'm a traveling muso so by the time I get back I'll have 7 revolvers waiting for me at my local FFL.
I do believe I have a problem! But I'm a late starter and have a lot of catch up to do.
I'm lucky I'm just into one particular type:
SW pre 1982 P and R with shrouded cylinder rods.
Except for the 17' and maybe I'll get an 18 but they're pretty much the same.
I'll have this pre 17 4" waiting for me when I get back:

There are times when GunBroker provides good deals. For example, I couldn't find the Sig P365 XL I wanted anywhere locally. Had it on order for months at Kittery Trading Post. Looked online for a week or two and boom! a batch of them must've been shipped out and the price was lower than KTP even after the add-ons. I wanted a new Browning BLR '81 Lightweight Takedown in .308. Ran a search for a month or so and found a good deal. Years ago I wanted an M&P 340 without the infernal lock - found it on GunBroker.

Then there was the high condition 4-screw S&W .44 Magnum with the auction ending at 11:00 a.m. EST on a Saturday morning. I guess everyone slept in that day because I got it for a nice price … nice enough that the seller clearly wasn't happy when we talked on the phone. I think they meant to sell it at 11:00 p.m. when alcohol would lubricate bidding.

That one appears to be a Combat Masterpiece with target hammer and trigger...It would be interesting to learn if it letters that way......Ben

Yes. That was part of the draw for me. Pre 17.
I'll send the numbers when I see them.
It's be nice to know if it shipped that way, but I'm not too bothered either way.
I'm going to put target stocks on it anyway.
Will keep the magnas of course.

There's deals to be had on GB but you better know something about what you're looking at. I've picked up a few nice Swedish Mausers for a darn good price because the seller gave a bad description or lousy pictures.

I got lucky on a Model 15 no-dash I bought with target hammer and trigger plus unrelieved target stocks on it...To my joy the SWHF letter I received confirmed it shipped that way along with 49 others just like it...

The .22 caliber Combat Masterpiece had the designation of Model 18 added to its name after 1957...:)...Ben

I've several revolvers bought through GB auctions and never been disappointed when they arrived. A few were special contract models which were not advertised as such but I recognized. Apparently sellers, even some FFLs aren't aware of what they're selling sometimes. The auctions with bad photos sometimes limits bidding and all my GB purchases have arrived in better condition than expected. Maybe just lucky I guess.

I just started GB. I'm hitting 1:25 on buys. Hit 2 out of 50 for 50% of value. Up to about 15 now and will be 25 by Saturday. It's like a slot machine put yer money in ( one shot bid ) and let her roll. Win or lose and losing cost you nothing. I haven't got it down pat yet but this method is more applicable to high end stuff. Run of the mill guns everybody is in for couple hundred. I'm constantly getting prompted I been out bid, hurry there is still time to bid again. Sucker bids. I have seen some squirrelly bids on GB. No activity and high bid for several days, then near the end outbid but enough time to bid again. Throw another $100 in ring, you are out bid.
Since I was bidding 50% I experimented when 1st started. Creeping up $100 on my end where only $15 was required. Ran a M41 to $900 and hit it 3 more times $15@. Shill games no doubt. I have never "won" anything at auction. I was the one paying the highest price.
