That is a great price and I Love mine as well. I do wish I had the new compact, and I probably will after the first of the year. Going into the holiday season when you have kids means no gun buying.
 
I purchased a GSG 1911 22LR, trainer for my 1911 45. I love that pistol so much I saw a S&W M&P 22 CA at the shop. I picked it up and loved the feel, purchased that too. Now I enjoy shooting the M&P 22 CA so much I purchased the M&P 9mm full size. Now I can't find 22LR for the life of me in bulk form... What is the world coming to..
 
Palmetto has these on clearance again for $259.99, with free shipping this week on orders >$100. Link in OP still takes you where you need to go.
 
Aceman, PSA and Brownells both have .22 lr in various packaging if you want to pay $50-60 a brick plus shipping....don't know if anybody will ship ammo to Calif..though.

Sure wish they'd run the 22 compact again for $249.99. With the S&W rebate (ammo box) that would have to come home!!
 
After thinking about for one night I ordered a FS M&P 22 from the link in the OP for $259. My dealer's transfer fee is $10 (possibly +$5 for a background check). Also l went to a gun show this afternoon and was able to find two original M&P 22 12-rd magazines (last two) for $29.99 /ea and was able to get 1000 rounds of CCI 22LR copper plated hollow point rounds for $140. Can't wait to take this toy to a range :)
 
Good luck getting anything from PSA in a timely fashion. It's been three weeks and five faxes from FFL that they have on file and still don't have mine.
 
Dannybot, that piece if information would be helpful a day earlier, not after I invested in AMMO and accessories as much as the cost of the gun itself....

Had my fs mp22 in about a week from psa.ordered 11/4 picked up at lgs 11/12
