Welcome from IL. I visit the Denver area fairly often. Regarding polishing up the stainless guns, it has been done by many. Mothers Mag wheel polish and a soft cloth and a few hours gently rubbing can impart a nearly nickel looking finish. Or, stop a little sooner and have a smooth but not as bright finish. Nice thing is if you get too bright and don't like it a grey sanding pad used lightly can put back nearly original finish. I kind of like the shiny finish on a few guns.
