New member here from the Southeast corner of Pa. Montgomery County to be a bit more specific. Started into handguns and "assault rifles" some fifteen years ago, with quite a long layoff between then and last December. Like so many others, the Election of BHO grabbed my attention and convinced me to pay more attention to the situation facing not only gun owners but ALL Americans. However, the potential threats to the 2nd got me to get "on the bandwagon".
Anywho, my first handgun purchase was in 1994, at 21. It was a brand-spanking-new Sigma in .40 S&W, with Trijicon sights and the mail-in offer for a Ban-approved ten round mag. You know, in case I wanted to throw out the hi-cap it came with. After a few years and a few thousand trouble-free rounds I sold it, and my Norinco MAK-90 when I found myself in desperate need of cash. Fast forward to today, when I picked up a barely used (ie 50 rounds down the pipe) SW9VE from a co-worker. When I picked it up for the first time it was like reuniting with an old girlfriend. So comfortable in my hand, just the way I remembered it. I know the Sigma has plenty of detractors, but I've always been fond of it. It fits my hand superbly, points better than I do, and if I have the same luck as I did with my original, I'll be thrilled. No, the obnoxious/gritty/long/heavy trigger NEVER bothered me and I never had any FTF/FTE/dropped mags with my first. A "lemon", perhaps?
So now I'm back in a Smith, which joins my Ruger KP944TH (Guess I've got a thing for "underdog" guns), a Stag Model 2 AR-15 and a 1929 Izzy Mosin-Nagant 91/30.
Oh, I'm Sid, btw.
