My girlfriend and I moved to ATL after I received a job offer worth relocating for. Originally from Miami, but now that we are both in Georgia, seemed like the smart thing to do was to obtain my CCW License in the event we are in a rough area and need added protection. I own a Glock 17 that I keep at home for range/home defense but just placed my order in for my CCW - a brand new M&P Shield 9mm.
Regardless of the fact that the G43 was coming out and I arguably live near one of the best priced LGS in Georgia (probably US), I went to the store this past saturday and held a few compact/sub compact single stacks, initially settling on the Walther CCP due to the feel and grip on it (admittedly, it feels GREAT). The reviews on the gun were leaving me extremely uneasy over the next few days, and after a quick call this morning, I requested that they switch the order (it had not been sent in yet) for an M&P Shield 9mm. Who would have thought peace of mind would end up $30 cheaper too? I guess I'll just use the difference and purchase another 8rd mag.
Have heard great things about the Shield, and have shot the M&P 9 & 9c already at the range, so I can't wait til I have my Shield!
Anyhow, greets to everyone!
