Received these grips when I purchased a k frame 38 special masterpiece. They do not properly fit a k frame(a little large). The right side grip is marked 132, 143. Would someone please help with proper identification.

Welcome! These appear to be N frame service or Magna stocks from a gun made in the mid-1950s. Be sure to hang onto them, you may get a gun that needs original stocks in the future. :)

Yes, I agree, probably N frame. Worth hanging onto

Or, selling to someone who has the revolver from that era that can use them.

Thanks all, I thought the oversize fit on the K frame might indicate for use on a N frame. I was hopeful the part numbers on the right side stock (132; 143) would give a definite answer.
Does the diamond around the escutcheon indicate a particular time frame of manufacture?

It isn't a part number. It is the serial number (minus the letter prefix) for the revolver those Magna stocks shipped on from the factory.

Yes. Those were used from c. 1953 until the mid-1960s. The diamond was ordered eliminated from K and N frame Magna stocks on January 11, 1966. It took a little while to use up what was in the bin, so they show up for some time after that date.

Alex, I bought a pre 28 with mis matched magna stocks. My serial is 117,885. If you want to let them go, hit me up.
