Grip sleeve on the M&P Shield

+1 for read the Manual.

I know, but REAL MEN should READ the Manual. Rack the slide to release it.

The manual also will tell you that the FRONT sight is the ADJUSTABLE ONE on the Shield, the REAR SIGHT is only REMOVABLE for replacement sights.

Thank You All for your tip for Talon Grips. I just ordered a set for my M&P SHIELD 9mm. Now i've got another problem. After putting first mag thru and firing the last round as you know the slide locks open. Inserting the second Mag and "trying" to push down the slide stop to slam the barrel forward it takes pressure from 2 fingers. Is there a way to be able to just use your thumb only? When i was making my purchase and trying to release the slide in front of the salesman i noticed this and when brought to his attention he said its because the gun is stiff. Even after taking it all down and oiling where necessary its still hard as h--- to push it down to release the slide.
else have that same problem? You can answer me here or at [email protected]
Thanks.
Lew

I have an M&P9 and 9c and neither one can be closed by trying to depress the slide lock. I wish it did but it ain't no 1911. Read the manual and get over it.

I agree with Fercho64 the handall jr fits good, although I didn't trim mine, best to heat it up with a hairdryer to make it easier to slip on, it's a tight fit.

I boiled them and still ripped two of them. I gave up on Hogue and went the inner tube route. I cut off and placed the hogue finger separator under the inner tube. Moves a little at times, but will do until Pachmayr or someone else comes out with a Shield-specific grip sleeve.

I love my hogue but it kept moving and it ripped when I removed it so Houge send me another new grip and I install it with grip tape. I am about to post pictures in another thread. I will link to it

Just as an FYI for those who may be interested, the Limbsaver 12013 grip fits the Shield perfectly without any cutting or modification. I have one on my .40 Shield - no issues with it through 200 rounds or so.

Any type of movement at all so far? I see it will work with the compact but no mention of the shield on the website..

Elde you must have larger hands. I got one on my PPS and got another one to try on my SHIELD and I just could not get a confortable grasp on it. The Houge is much thinner and just felt right on my medium size hands. I do love how the Limbsaver can be removed and how it sticks to the grip.

@ Dohmein - No movement. Actually this is an extra Limbsaver I had for one of my PPS'. I'd imagine the Shield is too new for them to have updated their website....although it's obviously the hottest thing on the market right now.

@ Fercho64 - Guilty as charged with regard to big hands. Hogues and Pachmayrs are certainly more comfortable for some folks. I'd imagine that the folks at Pachmayr will be coming out with one of their Tactical Grip Gloves for the Shield any second now.

@ Elde - Thanks. I know I need one of them since this is my daily carry gun and its a bit slick for me but I am not sure about Hogue, Limbsaver or someday Pachmayr. So far limbsaver looks best to me since it has no groove

I looked for a Pachmyar 05177 for the LC9. I am almost sure that one will fit the SHIELD, but no one had one in town. Look it up!! It has no grooves

Lo and behold, the Pachmayr Tactical Grips Glove for the S&W is officially here. As a side note, it fits the Walther PPS perfectly. Product #05179.:)
