Gun cleaners

For general handgun cleaning I use a 25/75% mix of Kroil and Hoppes. For lubrication, Breakfree CLP and U.S. "grease rifle". For long gun bore cleaning I use Butchs Bore Shine and for stubborn copper deposits, Sweets 7.62. Same lube as above. So far, so good!

There is a reason Hoppes is on the shelf of every gun cleaning department. Good stuff lasts. There is much that's newer and I have tried many, but when the bore needs cleaning Hoppes is on the brush and the rages.

nothing at all wrong with hoppes, I alternate cleanings with that and CLP break free and finish with bore snake. Works for me.

I am a big fan of M-PRO 7 cleaner and oil. Their cleaner has no odor and can be used indoors with no danger. All their products are non toxic.

I was a Hoppes, Breakfree CLP, some times Gun scrubber. Changed to M PRO 7. As you say Non toxic, no odor, and non flammable. Work good for me.

M Pro 7 is a Hopes product

Pantheon chemical makes M-pro 7 and were approached by Hoppes(or parent company) to design a non-toxic line of gun care products with the result being the Hoppes elite line.

Irregardless of what you use, it makes sense to use something non-toxic. I see no need to expose oneself to nasty, foul smelling chemicals(many of which are nothing short of neurotoxins) when the non-toxic stuff works perfectly fine.

Many options to consider in addition to the juices:
Cleaning rod: Nylon, wood, aluminum, brass, bore snake.
Bore brush: Nylon, brass, bronze, stainless, mop, T-shirt remnants, cotton twill patches, Lewis lead remover, jag, slotted tip.
Utility brushes: Toothbrush, nylon, brass, bronze, stainless.
Silicone impregnated cloths.
Protective gloves: Latex, nitrile, powdered, not powdered, latex/nitrile combo.
.
Or, get a Glock and don't bother with cleaning it. I've found it really isn't necessary.
