Gun Confiscation Underway in New York - Katie Pavlich

Whenever a gun control supporter is calling for "reasonable" restrictions on gun owners, you know that as sure as night follows day there will be attempts to add more and more restrictions, ultimately followed by confiscation. The lesson to be learned is: DONT GIVE IN TO ANY GUN CONTROL PROPOSALS.

I wasn't about to move there anyway and I'm certainly not going to now but my heart goes out to those Americans that are being deprived of their constitutional rights. It's just a doggone shame.....

The anti-gun climate in New York City and the surrounding suburbs is hard to imagine if you live in a gun friendly part of the country. Having been born and raised in NYC, and having numerous relatives still living there and in the suburbs, I would bet that few if any citizens would think anything negative about a plan to outright confiscate privately owned firearms. I have mentioned this in many different threads, but there is an almost pathological fear of guns among much of the population there and you can often hear it said that "only the police should be allowed to have guns". This is notwithstanding the reality that criminals use guns every day to rob, kill and terrorize unarmed civilians, and only the truly delusional think the police can respond quickly enough to save the unarmed citizen. I have relatives who admit that the statement "when seconds count, the police are only minutes away" is true and likely to always be true in the future, but they still cannot comprehend owning a gun for self defense.

My guess is that there are several states where, in general, the idea of total gun confiscation would be readily accepted by a majority of the citizens there. These states include NY, NJ, Conn, Mass, Rhode Island, Maryland and possibly Delaware as well. California, dominated by LA and SF, probably also would support confiscation but the rural parts of the state would at least try to fight such a move. We truly are becoming two distinct nations when it comes to support versus disdain for the rights we have under the 2nd Amendment.

True, but other than in Chicago it is relatively easy to own and buy guns. And we just achieved concealed carry status as a "shall issue" law. So while Illinois is a crappy, corrupt, almost bankrupt leftist dominated abomination, being a gun owner here is not bad (outside of Cook County).

The only people that will EVER be disarmed by any laws past present or future are the honest law abiding citizens unfortunate enough to live where ever there is a gun grab. Criminals don't care about the law...THAT'S WHY THEY ARE CRIMINALS for cryin' out loud.

People tend to fear what they don't understand. And some people are like hoot-owls, the more light you shine on them the less they see.

The anti gun concept is such a "mantra" by now and so ingrained in the minds of "those" people that even though I'm sure they know that if all the guns were taken away from the honest law abiding citizens it would give free reign to all violent criminals in the area, and even attract a lot more from areas where John Q. Citizen is armed and ready and willing to protect himself, They would still and will always be okay with a gun grab.

It's easy to understand where the term "sheeple" comes from. Easy to understand but sad...and scary.

I didn't know that, and I'm glad to hear it. I fear the day when the crazies in Atlanta start making laws for the rest of Georgia.
